Duathathor-Henuttauj A, a daughter of the first king of the Tanite 21st Dynasty, Smendes I, was the principle wife of the Theban High Priest of Amun and King, Khakheperre Pinodjem I and the mother of five children. The most important of these were the God's Wife of Amun Maatkare-Mutemhet and the HPA and King Menkheperre. She died during the pontificate of her eldest son, Menkheperre, as is proved by the leather tabs bearing his name on her mummy. Although the Royal Cachette was certainly not her initial place of burial, her remains were found there in her own two nested coffins in 1881. Her burial had been extensively plundered in antiquity, but a unique gold plaque was found covering the embalmer's eviseration incision (see image below). It has been speculated that she was initially buried together with Pinodjem I and Nedjemet.
